{name:Nick#|#picture:1}Excitement rushed through my veins as I walked into my bedroom and collaspsed on my bed. I Nick Greene, had a date with Ollie. That sounded really bad coming from a guy who's former girlfriend just died. It was worse that I was actually excited. It's just a date to the movies, or was is it even a date? Who cares? It's not like we were getting married. The movie started at 6, so Ollie and me agreed that I would pick her up at 5:30. That meant I had around 2 hours to get ready, even though it would only take five minutes. Absentmindedly, I whiped sweat off my brow and that's when I realized...I stunk. Like litterally. Genius me must have forgotten to put deoderant on. I stayed in the shower for a while, just to pass the time. When I got out it was almost five, so I got dressed hurridly, gelled my hair, sprayed on some cologne, and rushed downstairs. I kissed my mom goodbye, snatched the car keys from the hook on the wall, and made my way out the door examining the piece of paper Ollie gave me with her address written on it....

{name:Ollie#|#picture:0}For what must've been the twenty-third time since I'd gotten home, I got up from my desk and went to check my hair in the mirror. I couldn't decide whether I liked it or not, and couldn't figure out if I regretted getting it cut so short or not. Deciding that I didn't regret it, I sighed and sat back down at my desk. I was attempting the homework I'd been set as I didn't want to have to worry about getting it finished while I was out with Nick. Just thinking about him made me smile which was probably kind of... forward? In total, I'd probably known him for about 3 hours, but that didn't really matter to me. A girl can't help her feelings, right?
I almost fell off my chair when Lia came into my room and told me that Nick was here. Since the house was so ridiculously big, I hadn't heard the doorbell from my bedroom. I ran to my mirror before I left my bedroom, just to check that my new hair looked okay. After that, I grabbed my bag and ran downstairs to the front door. Nick was standing on the front porch, looking up at the house in what could've been awe. I felt strangely embarrassed and hoped he didn't think I was some rich, bratty teenager who got whatever she wanted when she wanted. 'Hi,' I said shyly, announcing my presence. Nick looked at me, and I swear his eyeballs almost popped out of his head. 'Your hair...' I felt my heart sink, and stared down at my feet. I knew I shouldn't have had it cut! 'No!' Nick said quickly. 'It looks great!' I peered at him from underneath my new fringe. 'Really?' I asked quietly.

{name:Nick#|#picture:1}Ollie's haircut had been a big shock to me, but not the bad kind of shock, the good kind. Her haircut framed her face and suited her. She took my reaction the wrong way and looked at her feet, her shoulders slouched. 'No!' I smiled, 'It's looks great!' 'Really?' she squeaked, looking at me from underneath her bangs. 'Really.' I grinned, 'It suits you.' 'Thanks.' she blushed, allowing her hair to fall on her face. 'Are you ready?' I asked, nodding towards my car. It wasn't anything special, but it'd have to do... She nodded and scurried after me, who was already halfway to the car. I held the passenger door open for her and she slid in. I shut the door behind her and climbed in the car. I turned the key and the engine started, music blasting from the sterio. 'Feel free to turn in to whatever channel you like.' I smiled at Ollie and she began fiddling with the radio dial while I pulled away from the curb...
Five minutes later I had the car parked infront of The Marquee and was opeing Ollie's door. She slid out, muttered a small thank you, and I shut the door behind her. Together we walked towards the theater, Ollie looking at it in awe. I told her it was old. This was going to be one weird night...

{name:Ollie#|#picture:0}'Wow,' I breathed. 'You were right about it being old.' Nick smiled a bit, and nodded towards the entrance. Together, we walked inside and bought our tickets, before going over to the food counter to get some popcorn. There were a few other kids there, but in total there weren't that many people at all. It seemed like a really authentic place and I imagined the cinema screen to be framed with old velvet curtains, and for the seats to be worn and torn. I turned out to be right, but it wasn't the manky kind of old. It seemed unique, almost vintage-ish, if that's even a word. Nick and I took two seats on the back row. Nick balanced the tub of popcorn on the arm between our seats, and started to take off his shoes. 'Why are you taking your shoes off?' I giggled, watching him through the dim light. 'It's comfier,' he smiled. 'You should try it.' Still giggling, I kicked off my faded gold flats and put my feet up on the seat in front of me. Nick did the same, and took a handful of popcorn.

{name:Nick#|#picture:1}Everybody avoided sitting in the row directly infront of Ollie and me when they came into the theater. That was another one of the benefits of taking of your shoes, nobody wanted to sit near you. 'I didn't think they smelled that bad...and I just took a shower too.' I looked at Ollie, frowing. 'Maybe it's you..' She gaped at me, digging her hand into the bowl of popcorn. The next thing I knew, I had a mouthful of popcorn. Ollie began giggling and the lights began to dim. There was the 'click' of the projecter and in a second the screen was filled with color. I sunk down into my chair and took a breath of air. Everything just felt....right. Ollie's eyes were glued to the screen, her hand reaching for the popcorn every now and then. The movie wasn't my taste, so to amuse myself I began flicking pieces of popcorn at Ollie periodically. I could tell she was trying her best to ignore it and hold back her laughter because her face looked like it was about to explode. Something exploded and it wasn't Ollie I can tell you that. Well atleast I hoped it wasn't... A few rows ahead of us there was a man sitting with two boys, who looked like they just came from a farm and they were well...flatulating. People errupted in laughter, others crying out in disgust. I of course was among the people who were practically in hysterics. Ollie stared at me in disgust and I stopped laughing muttering 'Sorry, it's a guy thing.'

{name:Ollie#|#picture:0}I honestly couldn't remember going on such a fun date. Although, that was probably because I hadn't, up until that night. Nick and I sat through the movie, occassionally flicking popcorn at each other and having a laugh at the film. As we walked out of the screen, we made up an alternate ending, and bought some more popcorn to eat as he walked me home. We spoke about anything and everything, and I found myself liking Nick even more as each moment passed. Upon getting to my front door, an awkward silence settled between us and I became unsure of what to say. 'Are you taking the popcorn, or am I?' Nick asked, breaking that unnerving silence. I smiled slightly, and looked down at my feet. 'You can have it.' 'I was hoping you'd say that,' he joked. I laughed, and he stepped closer to me. 'I had fun tonight,' he said, embarrassment present in his voice. I felt myself blushing as I nodded in agreement, and looked up at him, meeting his gaze. 'Thanks,' I smiled. 'Can we... do it again sometime?' he asked, speaking quickly. 'I mean... that is, if you'd want to? Cause if you don't then thats okay...' 'No,' I smiled. 'I'd like that.' Nick heaved a sigh, and smiled back at me. 'See you tomorrow then?' he asked. I nodded. 'I guess so.' 'Alright. Night Ollie.' 'Night,' I whispered. Nick turned to go, but just as he got down the first step leading down to the garden path, he stopped and turned back. He stayed still for a moment, before shuffling back over to me and planting a light kiss on my cheek. And then we both smiled, chuckled nervously and Nick left. I let myself into the house, to find that Lia was sitting on the bottom step of the stairs. 'What are you grinning about?' she asked. 'Oh nothing,' I chimed as I brushed past her and climbed the stairs in twos.
